모두 아는 바와 같이 아래아로 불리는 모음은 이미 사라졌다. 요즘 사라지고 있는, 또는 사라진 모음은 매우 기초적인 모음이라는 데 좀 큰 문제가 있다고 보인다.

가장 대표적인 것이 ㅐ와 ㅔ가 구별되지 못한다는 것이다. 이 문제는 발음하기가 좀 어려운 ㅐ가 사라지고 대신에 ㅔ로 합쳐져서 두 발음이 동일하게 된 것이다. 내가 기억하기로는 어렸을 때에는 사람들이 ㅐ와 ㅔ를 구분했던 것 같다. 확실해 ‘내가’와 ‘네가’는 구별이 되었다. 하지만 현재는 두 단어가 구별이 되지 않고 동일하게 표시가 된다.

지금은 ‘내가’가 ‘네가’로 발음이 되어, 충돌이 일어나자 아무래도 2인칭보다는 1인칭이 중요하므로 이 충돌에서 진 2인칭이 모습을 바꾸어 ‘니가’로 되어 버렸다.

이 두 모음과 같이 전면적으로 통합이 되어 버린 경우 말고도, 부분적으로 모음이 바뀐 예를 들자면

• 혜: 보통 사람 이름에 나오는 이 소리는 ‘예’에다 ‘ㅎ’ 소리만 붙이면 되는데, ‘예’는 정상적으로 발음하면서 ‘혜’는 ‘헤’라고 발음해 버린다.

이스라엘 회사는, 북한에 판매 금지 제품을 팔면서 늘 배송지를 북한으로 적고… -_-;;

지난 토요일은 세종대학교 영문과 동문 체육대회가 있던 날이다.

나름대로 친구 결혼식도 있고, 다른 약속도 있고 해서 저녁7시쯤에 학교에 가게 되었다. 시간은 늦었어도 보통 동문체육대회 하면 밤 늦게 먹고 마시므로 모두들 있을 터였다.

나는 당연히 수십년간 영문과 학생회실이 있었던 군자관 2층으로 갔다. 그런데…. 없다.

군자관을 다 돌아도 없다. 학생들을 여러명 잡고 물어봤지만, 답이 안나온다. 다들 모른다.

이 건물 저 건물 헤매면서 찾아봤지만 실패했다. 수위아저씨한테 물어봐도 모른다.

도대체 영문과 학생회실이 어딜 간거야!!!

작년까지 있었는데…. 수십년을 제 자리를 지켜온 영문과 학생회실이 도대체 어디로….!!!

한 두 시간 헤매다가 그냥 포기하고 집에 왔다.

얼마 전에 태국에서 쿠데타가 일어나고, 그에 대해 한나라당이 논평을 한 이후로 인터넷에 조그만 로고가 급격히 많이 돌아다니는데, 그 로고의 제목이다.

한나라당 로고 자체도 일본의 자민당 로고를 따왔다는 말들이 있다. 솔직히 너무 비슷하긴 하다. 어쨌든, 다른 나라에서 일어난 쿠데타를 보고, 제1야당이라는 새끼들이 정부에게 ‘봤지? 조심하라구’라는 느낌의 논평을 한다는 것 자체가 코메디다. 게다가 한나라당은 과거에 두 번이나 쿠데타를 일으켜서 정권을 획득한 새끼들 아닌가!

한나라당이라고 부르기도 싫다. 그 새끼들은 말 그대로 딴나라당이다. 대한민국의 파멸과 괴멸을 당 최대의 목표로 삼고 있는 것은 아닌지 내부 조사를 해 봐야 한다. 이 놈들, 내년 대선에서 반드시 실패해야 한다. 이런 나쁜 놈들. 정말이지 정말이지 때려주고 싶다.

오늘 점심에 피자헛에 가서 피자를 먹었다. 새로 나온 메뉴가 있어서 먹었는데 역시나 피자헛이다.

피자헛은 늘 느끼는 거지만 너무 짜다. 피잔지 소금덩어린지 알 수가 없다. 나는 미스터 피자를 제일 좋아한다. 미스터 피자가 제일 맛있다.

피자헛을 먹고 나면 항상 하게 되는 말이 있다 - “에이, 오늘 피자 헛 먹었네”

어제 델에서 노트북을 주문했다.

그런데 오늘 뉴스를 보니 델 노트북이 또 폭발했다고 한다. 물론 일본의 어느 국제 회의에서 델 노트북이 폭바한 것은 알고 있다. 오늘 뉴스를 보니 델만이 아니라 씽크패드와 애플 등 소니 충전지를 사용하는 노트북들이 여기 저기서 마구 폭발하고 있다고 한다.

걱정이 되어서 델에 전화해서 물어봤는데, ‘문제가 없을 겁니다’고 한다. ‘문제가 없습니다’가 아니고. 그래서 배터리 제조사를 물어보니, 처음엔 잘 모르겠다고 하고, 다시 물어보니 한 5분 후에 ‘델’이란다. 델이 노트북용 배터리를 자체 제작했던가? 정말?

고객 상담 직원과 통화하고 나서 델에 믿음이 안간다. 믿기가 힘들다. 그저 충전지에 문제가 없기만을 바랄 뿐이다.
